The Learning Hub is excited to announce the upcoming launch of the new course ITS110C – Handling Sensitive Digital Information. This course aims to provide support and guidance for Government of Canada (GC) employees handling sensitive information and other assets in an Information Technology (IT) environment. Participants will examine the application of security controls, best practices for categorizing classified information and assets, the Traffic Light Protocol for information sharing, personnel and physical security considerations, network zoning requirements, and the cyber security incident reporting process. By the end of this course, participants will be equipped to make informed decisions about handling sensitive digital information and other assets in the GC and confidently report security incidents for their organization.

Update to our course catalogue
Dear Participants,
We are excited to inform you of a significant update to our course catalogue! To better align with the broader academic community and ensure clarity for both current and prospective students, we are updating our course numbering system.
These changes will take effect over the month and be complete by November 8. The content and structure of the courses will remain the same, but the new numbering system will reflect a more standardized approach. This change will provide better transparency in course progression and help you plan your educational journey more effectively.
The category of each course will be represented by 3 letters (COM = COMSEC), followed by 3 numbers (the first of which represents the “tier” or number of requirements), and end with another letter representing the format (C = classroom and S = self-paced). Example: COM101C.
We have also added more course categories to better reflect the complexity of Cyber, IT and Communications security.
Please note that all certificates for previously completed courses will be automatically converted to the new model and your past attendance will remain valid.
Thank you for your continued dedication to advancing your skills in cyber security. Should you have any questions or need further assistance, feel free to reach out to us.
Best regards,
The Learning Hub
