Course Description
Government of Canada (GC) employees are often the targets of spear phishing and whaling campaigns given their access to sensitive and financial information. There is a requirement to increase the cyber security awareness on these commons risks by highlighting how to identify them, mitigate and avoid them.
Course Objectives
- Describe various types of social engineering attacks
- Recognize characteristics of social engineering attacks
- Describe tactics used to camouflage malicious links
- Adopt practices that reduce social engineering threats
- Recall how to contain and recover from social engineering compromises
Target Audience
The target audience is senior management, executives and their staff, and any other employees in the private/public sector who may be the focus of targeted social engineering attacks and who are looking to protect themselves and their assets from cyber-attacks.
